My journey in athletics began on the wrestling mats of Princeton Community Middle School, where I honed my skills and determination. Despite facing challenges like a knee injury during my high school senior season, I pushed through and earned respectable placements at the state level, finishing 8th as a sophomore and 6th as a senior in 2002. I returned to PCHS from 2021-2022 as Head Coach for the wrestling team, where we had a record setting season beating our county rival, Gibson Southern, and taking a Princeton wrestler to the IHSAA state finals. Jared Dunn wowed the Ford Center at the Evansville Semi-State...an unranked and unknown wrestler pinning a returning state champion. It was a coaching experience I will never forget.
Following my high school career, I received a prestigious nomination from Rep. John Hostettler to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point. Wrestling remained a passion, and I was recruited to join the Army wrestling team. However, I eventually transitioned to IU Bloomington, where I pursued my academic interests and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Southern Indiana in 2007.
But my journey didn't stop there. In 2006, I delved into the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), quickly making a name for myself by becoming the Hook N Shoot champion, winning 3 fights in a single night. This accomplishment in the MMA world was particularly significant, considering Hook N Shoot's legacy as the second longest-running promotion after the UFC, with its founder, Jeff Osbourne, having ties to the UFC as a commentator.
Transitioning to professional MMA in 2008, I continued to test my skills in the cage until my last fight in 2015. Alongside my athletic pursuits, I ventured into entrepreneurship, owning and operating Turner Mixed Martial Arts Center before ultimately founding and leading Team Tiger Wrestling Club.
Beyond athletics and business, I've expanded my horizons academically, earning my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2017 and gaining acceptance into the esteemed IU Kelley School of Business in 2019.
In addition to my diverse interests and achievements, I'm an avid fan of pop culture icons like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, embodying a balance of intensity and lightheartedness in all aspects of life.
